Right before their father daughter dance to “I Loved Her First,” Jess’s dad gave a toast that had the room in tears and on their feet! He finished his toast by saying, “Ryan I loved her first, but together we can love her forever.” Wow. This was the sweetest ending to a father of the bride speech I’ve ever heard and this is just one example of how special Jess + Ryan’s wedding day was!

The entire day was full of emotion, lots of laughter and lots of tears. With the wedding being just a few days after Christmas, it still had that cozy Christmas-y feel with the chilly weather, the seasonal decor, and Jess rocking her fur wrap!

We spent our first portion of the day at Jess’s parents house where the girls were getting ready and celebrating with Jess! As soon as Kyle and I walked in we were greeted by Jess’s sweet family and they made us feel right at home and invited into the celebration! It only took a few minutes to realize how close this family is and how much they love Jess! When they were all ready, Jess and her bridesmaids were champs at braving the cold for a few photos outside and it was so worth it!

From here we moved to the church for the photos of Ryan and the groomsman. I had gotten to know Ryan a little bit during their engagement session so I already knew he had a sense of humor. I expected this time to be entertaining and full of laughs and it definitely was!

Then on to the ceremony! Wow was their church, the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, so beautiful! It provided such a beautiful setting for Jess + Ryan to say their vows to each other and tie the knot!

Next, it was time to head downtown to the Mavris Arts & Event Center to take Jess + Ryan’s portraits before their reception! Once again, they braved the cold and we had a blast capturing their first photos as husband and wife with the city backdrop right behind them! These are some of my favorite portraits to date! There’s something about the cold weather that makes you snuggle and giggle just a little bit more and it definitely worked to the camera’s advantage!

The day ended celebrating Jess + Ryan at their candlelit reception and it was a night to remember! From the speeches, to the emotional first dances, the live band and dance party, it was such a fun celebration to be a part of! I can’t wait for you to see it all below!

Jess + Ryan, I hope you’re having a blast on your honeymoon right now and these photos are fun to come home to and get to relive your wedding day all over again! Thanks again for trusting Kyle and I to capture the first day of your journey as husband and wife! It was an honor!
